Beth Bauer won the 2000 Women's Eastern Amateur
Championship, having been runner-up in the Women's Southern the week
before. The following week Bauer joined fellow US Team Members for
the Curtis cup Match played in England in late June. It was to be
her final amateur title. She turned professional in August
immediately following the Women's Amateur Championship. Whispering
Pines country Club, North Carolina, was host to the WEGA Championship.
Bauer shot 72-70-69 to out distance the field by six shots. Duke
University teammate Kalen Anderson, Edina, MN, was second. The
field included Curtis Cup team members Carol Semple Thompson and Robin
Weiss.

Patty Moore won the 2000 Women's Eastern Amateur Championship,
making it her third victory for 2000. She hit the senior circuit in
the Fall of 2000 and won the North and South at Pinehurst, followed by the
Southern Seniors played at the Forest in Fort Meyers, FL and finished up
with the WEGA Senior Championship at Houndslake CC in Aiken, SC.
