Officers

Suzanne Nelson - President- joined WEGA in the fall of 2002.   She is a past President of the Women's Golf Association of Massachusetts and the New England Women's Golf Association.  Suzanne served on the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts Golf Association and the Francis Ouiment Scholarship Fund.  Since 2000, she had been a member of the USGA Handicap Procedures Committee.  Suzanne and her husband, Stu, divide their time between Crystal River, Florida and Flat Rock, North Carolina.

Jan Sutherland - Vice-President
      Jan joined WEGA in the fall of 2001.   Jan is a member of the Virginia State Golf Association - Women's Division, Virginia State Golf Association, VSGA Foundation, and the WGA at Danville Golf Club.   She is a Past President of the VSGA-Womens Division and served on the board for eight years.   She is also a Past President of the WGA at Danville Golf Club.
     In the winter of 2001, Jan became the first woman to be elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Virginia State Golf Association.   She also serves on the Board of the VSGA Golf Foundation.  Among her many golf achievements, she has won fourteen club championships at the Danville Golf Club.  Jan resides in Virginia with her husband, Jim.  They have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Carolyn O’Donnell - Secretary
   Carolyn joined WEGA in June of 2003.  Her first association with WEGA was as a spotter at the Women’s Eastern Championship at Charles River Country Club in 1991. Carolyn brings to the Committee a strong rules knowledge.  She is the Chairman of the Rules Committee of the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts.  In 1995 Carolyn served as Co-Chairman of the Volunteers for the USGA Women’s Amateur held at The Country Club.  She has attended Rules Workshops, Tournament Administration seminars, and Handicapping and Rating programs sponsored by the USGA.  She is a rules educator with junior girls programs in Massachusetts.  Carolyn is a member of The Country Club and Hyannisport Club and has held Club Championship titles at both clubs.  She lives in Wellesley and Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

Debbie Weber - Treasurer
    Debbie joined WEGA in January of 2005.  She is currently serving on the Women's District of Columbia Golf Association Executive Committee as the Teams Chairman.  She is on the Women's Board at Army Navy Country Club and has served as Teams Liaison to WDCGA, Couples Tournament Chairman and Luncheon Chairman.  Debbie is a member of the Virginia State Golf Association.  She lives in northern Virginia with her husband, Jack.  They have a son, Todd, and two daughters, Reagan and Amanda and 2 grandchildren, Nick and Sophie.

Mimi Henderson - Ex-Officio
     Mimi has been a member of the WEGA Committee since 1999 and was the Championship Chairman for the WEGA Senior Championship for four years.  She is on the Board of Directors of the Women's Southern Golf Association.  She is a member of the Florida Women's State Golf Association and the Women's Golf Association of Massachusetts.  Mimi serves on the USGA Women's Mid Amateur Committee and the Rules Committee of the WGAM.
     She resides in Osprey, Florida and Marion, Massachusetts with her husband, Ron.

Charlotte Balick
     
Char joined WEGA in 1982. She has served as Secretary, Vice President and President.  She is a member of the Women's Golf Association of Philadelphia and was a member of the Executive Committee.  She is currently a captain of a WGAP course rating team.  Char was a member of the Griscom Cup.  She has been runner-up in the Philadelphia Championship twice and was Senior Champion and Super Senior Champion.  She is also a member of the Delaware Women's Golf Association and has been their Amateur Champion six times, Senior Champion seven times and is currently Super Senior Champion.  She was also elected to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame.  She resides in Delaware and has a son, Donald, and a daughter, Bonnie and four grandchildren.

Alberta Endlar
  
Alberta accepted the invitation to join WEGA in the spring of 2004. She comes from Massachusetts where she has been a member of the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM) for over forty years and has participated in many of their tournaments and activities. She is a member of Belmont Country Club in Belmont, MA where she has been very active in playing and running club tournaments for the past forty-seven years. She was Chairman of the Ladies Golf Committee for two years in the mid 1980s and she holds seven Club Championship titles won in four different decades. She also holds nine consecutive Club Championships from 1989 to 1997 at the Sugarbush Golf Club in Warren, VT.
    
Alberta became active in the WGAM serving on the Rules and Handicap Committees.  In 1994 she was asked to join the Executive Committee. During the next eleven years she was Chairman of Prizes and later Chairman of the State Spring Teams Competition.  Alberta resides in Brookline, MA with her husband Stephen. She has two married daughters and four grandchildren.

Carol Haas

     Carol joined WEGA in 2006.  She is a member of the Delaware and Philadelphia Women’s Golf Associations.  Carol is a member of the Board of  the DuPont Country Club and chair of the Women's Golf Association.  She is a member of the USGA Women's Mid Amateur Committee.  Carol is a course rater for the Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia.  She is a volunteer for the LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program in Wilmington, DE and for the LPGA Championship. She lives in Wilmington Delaware with her two cats.

Joan Miller

 

Susan Musche
   Susan became affiliated with the WEGA in 2004.  From 1997 to 1998 she was the president of the Rhode Island Women's Golf Association.  She has also served as Rules Chairman, Handicap Chairman and Publicity Chairman for the state.  She is currently on the Rules Committee of the Women's  Golf Association of Massachussetts.
   A Regional Associate for the USGA, she has been a Rules Official for the US Women's Open since 2002.   
   Susan is a member of Wannamoisett Country Club in Rhode Island., Pocasset in Massachusetts. and Mission Inn in Florida..  Despite a handicap in the mid-teens, she has won the Club Championship twice at Pocasset and has been the runner-up several times at Wannamoisett.
   She lives in Rumford, RI. and Pocasset, MA. with her husband Frank.  She and Frank have three daughters, Allison, Sandra and Jessica, and a son, Steven.

Judy Norton
    
Judy accepted the invitation to join WEGA in August of 2005.  She is just completed her term as President of the Women’s Golf Association of Massachusetts (WGAM).  She joined the WGAM Board of Directors upon taking early retirement from Bank of Boston in 1997.  For the first few years she served as Finance Chairperson and completed her seven years of service as Vice President and then President.   Judy also served on the Board of Directors of The Massachusetts Golf Association and the Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund.  She is currently Vice President of the New England Women’s Golf Association (NEWGA) and will be President in 2007 when Massachusetts again will host the NEWGA Championship.
     Judy is a member of Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover Massachusetts.  She served as Chairperson for Women’s Golf in 1998 and 1999.  She also served on the Indian Ridge Country Club Advisory Board.  She was the recipient of the Indian Ridge “Green Jacket” award for her contributions to the game of golf.
     Although her degree was in education, her entire career was in business and in management.  She worked for Bank of Boston for twenty-two years.  She currently resides in Watertown, Massachusetts.

Gerri Scarpa    
     Gerri Scarpa was invited to join WEGA in the fall of 2007, in time for her attendance at the Women’s Senior Championship in Aiken, SC. 
     Gerri recently finished her term as President of the Women’s Metropolitan Golf Association (NY, NJ, Ct.) and is presently serving as President of the WMGA Scholarship Foundation, Inc.  She has served on the USGA Regional Affairs Committee and presently on the Senior Women’s Championship Committee.  She has attended several Rules Workshops, Tournament Administration seminars and is an active Course Rater, having done this for more than twenty years.   
     Gerri and her husband, John, are members of North Jersey Country Club in Wayne, NJ and reside in Fair Lawn, NJ.  They have two married daughters, Nathalie (who has played in the WEGA Championship) and Alison and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Morgan, Rachel and Matthew.

Teddy Stockwell
    Teddy joined WEGA in June of 2001 after being the local chairman for the Women's Eastern Golf Association Championship at Yeamans Hall. She is on the Board of Directors at Yeamans Hall Club and also serves on the Green Committee at the club.  Teddy is the Entry Chairman for the WEGA Amateur Championship.  She formerly served on the WSCGA Board. Teddy resides in South Carolina with her husband Charley Gibbs.  She has two daughters, Amy and Erin, two stepsons, Tim and Sam and two grandsons, Will. and Miles.
