  ** Important ** 

Because of other commitments at the Shackamaxon Golf and Country Club, practice rounds on June 14th
will begin from the 1st and 10th tees at 1:00 .  Those who will be in the area can play their practice round anytime
between now and June 14th.  Call the Pro Shop after you have received confirmation that your entry is complete
and that you are in the field.

To accommodate the later start of practice rounds, the mandatory Rules Meeting will be held at 6:30 pm


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

The Championship is open to female amateur golfers, with a certified handicap index of 11.5 or less and who belong to a WEGA Member Club (or have school affiliation) that has paid dues for 2010. Clubs and schools in the following states are eligible to join the Association: Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

The contestant’s club or school must be a member of the Women’s Eastern Golf Association.
THE $30.00 NONREFUNDABLE DUES FOR 2010 MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE.

A contestant may pay dues for her club if her club is not on list of clubs/schools that have paid dues.

FORMAT

 

54 Hole Stroke Play Championship


 

CHAMPIONSHIP FEES

 

A Contestant will be required to pay both the Entry Fee and the Host Club Fee and include the checks (2) with her entry form.

 

Entry Fee: $90.00 Make check payable to WEGA.

HOST CLUB FEE is $110.00 payable to Shackamaxon Golf & Country Club

 

This fee includes cart fees and range balls for four days.  A player who would like to carry her own bag but the $110.00 fee will still apply. No pull carts or trolleys will be allowed.  NOTE:  If a Shackamaxon caddie is employed for a minimum of three days (paying caddie directly) the Host Club Fee is $60.00 (instead of $110.00) payable to Shackamaxon Golf and Country Club.  You must indicate on the entry form that you intend to take a Shackamaxon caddie.  Only Shackamaxon caddies may be used.  If a contestant wishes to us a club caddie, she must reserve one through the Caddiemaster, Will Freeanti at 908-233-1300 x 218.  Caddie fees will be $50 plus $10 gratuity or $25 plus $5 gratuity for a forecaddie.

 

Total refund for cancellation up to June 8th. Entry Fee will NOT be refunded after June 8th.  Host Club Fee will NOT be refunded after June 11th.


 

REGISTRATION / LATE ARRIVAL

 Contestants MUST register on Monday, June 14th from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Shackamaxon Golf & CC or notify the Committee of late arrival. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of place.

PRACTICE ROUND   ** please note changes to practice rounds below - -

Because of other commitments at the Shackamaxon Golf and Country Club, practice rounds on June 14th will begin from the 1st and 10th tees
at 1:00 pm.  Those who will be in the area can play their practice round anytime between now and June 14th.  Call 908-233-3989, Josh Shepad, Head Golf Professional, after you have received confirmation that your entry is complete and that you are in the field.

Practice rounds on other dates or additional practice rounds are at the discretion of the club and may incur additional fees.


MANDATORY RULES MEETING  -  **please note changes to Rules Meeting below - -

This is mandatory and will be held at the Club, in the ballroom, on Monday, June 14th at 6:30 p.m.  This time has been changed from the original time of 5:30 pm to accommodate the later start of practice rounds.


 

CLUB POLICIES

 

Dress Code:  Shackamaxon has a specific dress code.  Spectators are expected to observe the club dress code.

 

Golf Course:  Women shall wear appropriate shirts and blouses, with or without collars.  No tank tops or logo tees shirts are permitted.  Shorts no more than 4 inches above knee; no cargo shorts.  Bare midriff will not be permitted on the golf course.

 

Clubhouse:  Denim/jeans are not permitted anywhere in the Club.  Sport caps should not be worn in the dining area.  Bare midriff will not be permitted anywhere in the Club.

 

Shackamaxon is a soft-spike and non-denim facility.

 

No pets allowed on premises.

 

Cell phones are permitted ONLY in the parking lot.

Directions from Newark Liberty (EWR) International Airport
16.5 Miles  25 minutes

1. Start out going NORTH
2. Merge onto I-78 W towards Garden State Parkway/Clinton 5.1 mi.
3. Take the GSP exit, Exit 52  0.2 mi.
4. Take the GSP South (Portions toll)  6.5 mi.
5. Take Exit 135 onto Central Ave. (toward Westfield)
6. Proceed 0.5 mi. to Terminal Ave - 2nd light (just before incline) Turn left.
7. Proceed 0.5 miles to light.  Turn right onto Rahway Ave.  (Westfield Ave.)
8. Cross RR, take 1st left onto Lamberts Mill Rd.
9.  Proceed 1.9 mil to Shackamaxon Drive.  Turn left.
10 Go 1 block and make another left to Club entrance.

Cookout & Long Drive Contest - Hosted by WEGA at Shackamaxon Golf & CC on Tuesday, June 15th at 5:30 p.m.


 

PRIZES

 

 Prizes are awarded to the Champion and the Runner Up and the 8 Low Gross Finishers. The OSGOOD Shield award is given for team stroke play and is competed for concurrently with the Championship. Teams must have a minimum of five (5) players and will be assigned by the Committee. Posting 5 gross scores daily, the team having the lowest 3 day aggregate score wins the Shield. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
