USGA Handicap Index Limit 15.5

Entry Requirements:    The Championship is open to amateur golfers, who were female at birth and will have reached their 50th birthday by October 22, 2002, have a certified handicap index of 15.5 or less and who belong to a WEGA Member Club that has paid dues for 2002.  Clubs in the following states are eligible to join the Association:  Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia and the District of Columbia.

The contestant's club must be a member of the Women's Eastern Golf Association.
The $30.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DUES FOR 2002 MUST BE PAID BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE.

The field will be limited to the 80 applicants with the lowest handicap index.  A current GHIN or Golfnet Handicap card MUST accompany entry. 

Entry MUST be filled out in its entirety and postmarked on or before September 10th.  Post entries will  be accepted if field is not full.  NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE WILL BE MAILED BY SEPTEMBER 16TH.  Other applicants will be placed on a waiting list in order of handicap index, and vacancies will be offered in that order.  Waiting list applicants will be notified of their status.

Accepted entries that cancel after October 8th will not receive any entry refund.

All entries are subject to the approval or rejection at any time (either before or during the Championship) by the WEGA Executive Board and the Host Club.  THE CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE PLAYED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE USGA RULES OF GOLF.

REGISTRATION:

Contestants must register on Monday, October 21st from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Houndslake Guest House or notify the Committee of late arrival.  Otherwise, place will be forfeited.

PRACTICE ROUND:

The course will be open to contestants beginning at 9:00 AM on Monday, October 21st.  Please call the Golf Shop for a starting time.  (803-648-3333).  Starting times will be taken from October 9th on.

CARTS REQUIRED:

Cart fee, practice balls, club storage and cleaning will be $60.00, payable at registration.  Cart fee for practice round will be $14.84 per person, payable in golf shop.  Caddies are not permitted.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Tuesday and Wednesday Starting times
Thursday 8:45 AM Shotgun start.

WEGA will host a light buffet at Houndslake C.C. Monday, October 21st at 6 PM (cash bar available).

On Thursday, October 24th, WEGA will host an Awards Luncheon immediately following play at Houndslake C.C.
